About this symposium

Institute of Technology University of Moratuwa, research symposium (ITUMRS) was launched in the year 2013 with the intension of enhancing the ITUM research culture, and since then has become an annual event in the ITUM event Calendar. Since its inception, the ITUM research committee has successfully organized seven research symposiums till last year (2019), providing an opportunity for ITUM staff to document and discuss multifaceted and subject related research projects carried out by them. In the year 2019, a limited number of spaces in the research symposium was opened to researchers from the industry, with the objective of giving them the opportunity to share their professional experiences in industry related research with ITUM staff. The recent establishment of a Research Unit (ITUM-RU) in ITUM, has now made it possible to stretch ITUM research limits to a new level. In today’s world engineering and technology is as compelling as it is necessary. In order to remain insightful, one must be vigilant, when it comes to following up with the latest trends, distinguishing the most constraining challenges, or conducting their own research. Therefore, the ITUMRU would like to take this opportunity to open the ITUM research symposium to Higher Education Institutes, Universities and the industries in Sri Lanka and invite them to connect with us and share their research experiences in different technology related areas. ITUMRS 2021, is the perfect platform to elevate one's reputation among researchers and others in the scholastic world as well as to participate in the spread of awareness and expertise.

ITUM research symposium will provide a platform:

• To highlight the technological applications, experiences and solutions for contemporary concerns in the field of technology.
• To present and discuss current results of scientific work in different fields of technology through presentation and publication.
• To create collaborative links among academics and professional practitioners in the industry, aiming at a discussion of contemporary issues and a long term sharing of knowledge.
